Call for Volunteers!!

If you know anyone who is interested in volunteering at the Hornets Nest Webeloree, any help would be greatly appreciated. This event will be held at Belk Scout Camp from November 7th - the 9th, 2008 (that Friday thru Sunday).

Below is a list of areas that they need volunteers to help out with:

  • Saturday night camp fire- volunteers would be responsible for getting the fire prepared and then start it
  • On the Orienteering Course, BB Range, and the Archery - Arrowmen can work one on one with those who are having difficulty with the concept
  • Serving Meals- they need help serving meals (with a full "Class A" uniform on and their OA sash) and meals for the food servers will be provided at each meal
Please let me know as soon as possible if you are able to help out that weekend. Even if you are just able to come out for Saturday that should be fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :) This is another opportunity for the Sehwatu Chapter to cheerfully serve our District.    CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP TO HELP!!

Danny Ryan, Chapter Chief

Call for Chapter Committee Chairman & Chapter Associate Advisers!!

The Chapter has SEVERAL open Committees that need Chairman.  If you are looking for how you can get involved in the Order of the Arrow, this is a way to start!!   There are some positions that are specific to a single event, like Fall Fellowship Chairman, or Summer Fellowship Chairman, and once this event has been planned and executed, you are finished!   There are others that have a longer term commitment.  Please go to the Officers link on the left, and review the list of offices that are open and contact the Chapter Chief and let him know what you are willing to commit to.  Feed the Fire of Cheerfulness!!  THANK YOU Brothers!

Danny Ryan, Chapter Chief

Chapter Meetings
7:00pm - 8:30pm(ish)
Hopewell Presbyterian Church
10500 Beatties Ford Road
(just across from entrance to Latta Plantation)

The Chapter holds its monthly chapter meetings on the 4th Wednesday of every month at Hopewell Presbyterian Church at 7pm.  Make sure to attend so you can find out about new happenings in the lodge and chapter.  Also, it is a good way to get involved in the Order.

Introducing "Hwatu" the Sehwatu Chapter Mascot

The Chapter introduced the mascot at the Sehwatu Summer Fellowship to the Chapter members, and to the Catawba Lodge at the 2005 Fall Fellowship. The word "se'hwatu" in Cherokee means "the hornet", thus our totem and mascot is the hornet. Our hopes are that this mascot will not only be used by the Chapter, but also the Lodge (Totem - Hornets Nest, home of "the hornet"), the District (Hornets Nest), and the Council to assist in fulfilling their missions.

Please see the "Mascot" link on the left to request the use of the mascot.
